A strange shadow has appeared on a distant red star – a mote in the eye of a god that is hurtling earthward. You and your fellow magicians must travel across the cosmos to divine the nature of this dread penumbra and its curious inhabitants. If you succeed, you shall be rewarded with membership in an association of arcane wonder-makers, but should you fail, the whole of the dying Earth shall pay the price.

In Penumbra of the Polar Ape, spell-casters and their traveling companions are tasked with the exploration of an alien under-orb in exchange for the arcane secrets of the Far-Viewers. Perils abound amid fell archveults, shifting geysers, and the crumbling monuments of a lost age. Tragedy, desperation and terrible foes await all those that dare to plumb the secrets of the Penumbra.
