Of Würms and Men is the first novella by John Baltisberger set in the Vast Grimm universe. Byros worked as a würm-extractor aboard a scientific ship, a messy job but one that could help humanity. That is until a cult-like terrorist cell attacked the ship, setting it on a crash course to a nearby deserted world.

Now, he and the badass Stephie are marooned on a hostile alien world, trapped in the ruins of a research station. Surrounded by cultists, deadly aliens, and the ever-constant threat of the würms, Byros must navigate a path towards safety and salvation for himself and Stephie, all while maintaining his dwindling humanity.
